Dr. Musinguzi, a seasoned conservationist, brings a wealth of experience in wildlife management, conservation education, and community conservation. He previously served as the Executive Director of the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC) before transitioning to UWA as the Director of Community Conservation and Ex Situ Wildlife Services following the merger of UWEC and UWA.

“Dr. Musinguzi is a dedicated conservationist with extensive experience in wildlife management, conservation education, and community conservation, among many other areas,” UWA stated.

During his tenure at UWEC, Dr. Musinguzi spearheaded conservation awareness campaigns, wildlife rescue initiatives, and public engagement efforts, significantly boosting Uganda’s conservation sector.

Welcoming him to his new role, UWA expressed confidence in his leadership. “UWA congratulates Dr. Musinguzi on his appointment and warmly welcomes him to the UWA family. We look forward to his leadership in advancing our mission to conserve and sustainably manage Uganda’s wildlife resources for present and future generations.”

Dr. Musinguzi’s appointment comes at a crucial time when Uganda’s wildlife conservation efforts continue to gain regional and international recognition, with increasing efforts to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts and promote sustainable tourism.

His leadership is expected to build on the progress made under Mr. Mwandha’s tenure, ensuring Uganda remains a leading destination for biodiversity conservation and ecotourism.
