King Saha Electrifies Lugogo Cricket Oval with Record-Breaking Crowd Attendance

Ugandan Afrobeat sensation, Manisul Ssemanda, popularly known as King Saha delivered an unforgettable performance at Lugogo Cricket Oval on Friday 24th January 2025. This concert not only showcased Saha’s immense talent but also attracted a diverse crowd of fans, spotlighting his growing influence as a musician amidst ongoing political discussions surrounding his career.

As the gates swung open early at 02:00 PM, super excited fans began pouring into the venue eager to secure their spots for what was anticipated to be a historic showdown. Despite some initial anxiety regarding potential cancellations due to safety concerns related to the aging pavilion at the Oval, the organizational team worked diligently to ensure the event would proceed without a hitch. By Friday, reassurances were made regarding safety protocols allowing the crowd to fully enjoy the atmosphere without any hindrance.

The event drew not only ardent King Saha supporters but also prominent figures from Uganda’s political opposition.

King Saha’s performance featured a riveting setlist filled with his biggest hits, each song met with enthusiastic cheers from the audience. His repertoire included well-loved tracks such as “Mulirwana,” which got the crowd dancing, and “Best Friend,” an anthem for many Gen Z’s. Other highlights included “Akamwanyi” a melodic favourite of many especially those in the opposition party, and “On My Way,” which displayed Saha’s lyrical prowess. The energy surged with hits like “Biri Biri,” “Zakayo,” and “Nakyakala,” as fans sang along passionately.

As the night progressed, Saha continued to deliver hit after hit including “Pretty Pretty,” “Kimala,” “Hullo Hullo,” “Ebiseera Ebyo,” “Sikyakusobola,” and “Ku Nya,” weaving a narrative that resonated with listeners. His performance of “Beera Awo” brought an emotional depth to the concert, while “Teziweera,” “Signal,” and “Teddy Tereza” showcased his versatility as an artist.

The moment arrived with fan-favorites “Nkwagala,” “Mpa Love,” “Mwoli,” “Princess,” and “Onkuba,” where the crowd erupted into applause and cheers. Saha further energized the atmosphere with songs like “Science,” “Money,” “Abantu Baffe,” “Bambi,” “Mwana Gwe,” “Swagga,” and “Bagenda,” among others ensuring that every fan left with cherished memories of an extraordinary night.

Ragga Dees Proves 37 Years of Musical Genius at Serena Hotel Kampala

Veteran Ugandan music star Daniel Kazibwe, known as Jaja Ragga Dee, showcased his 37 years of musical prowess on the Ugandan music scene.

Revellers who attended the “37 Years of Ragga Dee” experience danced to the legendary singer’s classic hits from the 1990s. His musical journey, spanning over three and a half decades, displayed a master of his craft who has entertained audiences in Uganda, the region, and even on the international stage.

For a captivating three-hour performance, Ragga Dee delivered a catalogue of beloved classics such as “Cissy,” “Njagala Dance,” “Oyagala Cash,” “Digida,” “Stranger,” “Semusajja Agenda,” “Mbawe,” “Letter O,” “Parliament,” “Mundongo,” “Owakaze,” “Siri Muyaye,” “Bamusakata,” “Landlord,” “Empeta,” and “In the Club,” among others. The audience found his music relatable, as these songs are part of their memories, often recalling popular 90s hits like “Bamusakata,” which they sang along to enthusiastically.

A major highlight of the night was Ragga Dee’s impressive Lingala dance moves, especially during the final set of the show, where he energetically entertained the crowd.

The night featured a special performance from veteran artist John Kaahwa, the former leader of Kads Band, who captivated fans with a country cover song and parts of his original compositions, drawing them to the stage to tip him as he belted out his signature baritone voice.

Ragga Dee also invited his daughter, Shivon Dee, who thrilled the audience with her fresh jam titled “Kiboko Fire.”

Additionally, Ragga Dee was joined by veteran hip-hop artist Babaluku, with whom he performed “Nkabongere.” Babaluku added excitement to the performance with an impressive freestyle session.

Kenneth Mugabi also joined the stage, treating fans to the best of his catalogue. Ragga Dee’s performance was supported by Janzi Band, whose members provided the perfect touch to the beats and drums throughout the night.
