Top 10 Events Happening This Weekend In Uganda

The weekend beginning Friday 31st January to Sunday 2nd  February  2020  will be quite busy on Uganda’s social scene with a number of events lined up for the party goers right from music events to sports events.

01.  National Human Trafficking Prevention Month Panel discussion

This Thursday, January 30th starting 2pm-4pm, there will be a National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Panel discussion at American Center, 5th Floor, Embassy Plaza building (opposite Tirupati Mall along Ggaba road). Human trafficking is a major issue affecting Ugandans and in the U.S they are marking the month. The U.S. Mission is bringing together a panel of experts from civil society and government to talk about human trafficking here in Uganda.

On the panel discussion will be;

Agnes Igoye – Commandant of Uganda Immigration Training Academy

Damon Wamara – Country Director, Dwelling PlacesLillian Ayella – Program Director, Willow International
Tyler Dunman – Special Counsel for Uganda, Human Trafficking Institute

02.  Comedy Store at UMA

This Thursday, Comedy Store Uganda will be hosting the most hilarious acts and musicians at UMA Lugogo starting 6pm, get to watch Tata Sam, Ssenga Justine Nantume, Kabata and Shequeen, Snake and Zoro, Mighty Family, MC Mariachi, Bobi Brown and Nilo Nilo and sizzling entertainment by; Iwera Band, DJ Lolah, Weasel and Winnie Nwagi.

03.  911 Premier Thursday with Sheebah

The Queen of the area Sheebah Karungi will be live at 911 Lounge this Thursday performing all her hit songs. Passby and have a good time with Queen Karma together with Galaxy FM deejays and presenters

all through night.

04.  David Lutalo Live in Tugende Concert

Singer David Lutalo will be performing Live in ‘’Tugende Concert’’ at Hotel Africana this Friday January 31st, go have a great time as he performs all his songs from way back in the days.

Gates will be open by 4pm, entrance is Shs20K Ordinary and Shs50K whereas a Table goes for Shs3M.

 

05.  Views & Vibes Tropical at the Five Horsemen, Nsambya

Catch the most anticipated Tropical Views and Vibes V2 this Friday at the Five Horsemen, Rooftop with baile funk, tropical house and afro house music from the legendary Bhayology, Chrisman and Turkana.

06.  Nile River Festival 2020 at Kayak the Nile

Africa’s largest and longest running white water festival is back and will be taking place from the 30th January till 2nd February 2020 at Kayak the Nile.

The 2020 Nile River Festival is a four day event that makes the most of some of the biggest rapids in the world and celebrates all that is awesome about the River Nile and the surrounding area.

Every year, the NRF draws some of the best athletes from around the world to compete for the overall champion’s title.

There’s four days of events hosted in paradise by Kayak the Nile in association with Nile River Explorers Camp.

07.  Jinja Mountain Bike Race 2020

The Jinja Mountain Bike Race 2020 will be taking place on Saturday February 1st, 2020, starting 8am at Nile River Explores Camp, Bujagali and finishing at Itanda Falls

The Jinja Mountain Bike Race and Ride is a unique fundraising event that  offers a race for the competitive ones and a guided recreational ride for the people who would like to take it a bit slower. But whether you choose to race or ride your participation will support students in Uganda with bicycles. This 2020-edition of the Jinja Mountain Bike Race and Ride will specifically support students from two Soft Power Education schools in Buyala, Budondo to improve their access to education with bicycles (#Bike4School).

The Jinja Mountain Bike Race and Ride is a 30km-ish Race and Ride through the trails and villages on the banks of the mighty white River Nile. It is definitely more than another bicycle event. It’s a celebration of cycling, of having a good time on the bike. And by having a good time on the bike you will support the bicycle projects of Cycling out of Poverty Foundation Uganda.

08.  Some Ka Party at Wild Coffee Bar

Wild Coffee Bar on 7th street, Industrial area brings you the ‘’Some Ka Party’’ featuring Melvyn Deejay this Friday. Its month end and time for you to spend some ka money on a ka party while you save abit as they offer youa free beer with any flatbread from 4-9 PM.

09.  January Networking Sundowner at Sheraton Hotel Kampala

The American Chamber Of Commerce of Uganda will this Thursday host the January Networking Sundowner starting 5pm till 8pm at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.

Today’s topic will evolve around Intellectual Property Rights on a Panel Discussion by experts

10.  Rwenzori Investment Expo 2020

The Rwenzori Investment Expo 2020 is taking place this Thursday till Friday (30th & 31st January 2020) at Mountains of the Moon University in Fort Portal under the Theme: “Boosting Investor Confidence for sustainable Industrialisation and inclusive Wealth Creation Agenda” .

The Expo is featuring keynote speakers and delegates from the different government agencies and Ministries as the Guest of Honour is His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni -President of the Republic of Uganda, RTD Col Tom Butime Rwakakaira (Minister for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities as Host and Hon. Matia Kasaija (Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development) as the Key note speaker.
